In this set of dies, you have the ability to create just beautiful 3-D window boxes. There are smaller dies that fit within the sides of the windows for endless designs and patterns (see picture below ). I used the smaller birthday candle die, carefully lined it up straight, and repetitively cut it across a piece of scrap paper. Don't worry too much if the cuts run off the paper. It's more important that they are as aligned and straight as possible. Basically, you will have created your own custom stencil. It may even be fun to die cut the candles wonky for a fun look. I've also included a picture of my finished "stencil" below.
Now that I had my stencil ready to go, I took some Dapper Denim cardstock and my embossing paste, and I spread it in a messy fashion over the diagonal of the corner of my panel. It really looked awesome when I removed my stencil, but I felt it needed more pop. So then I decided to try using gold embossing powder on it. I've used white embossing powder mixed with Dazzling Diamonds glitter before (my "This Little Piggy" post) for puffy clouds and I loved the look and texture that the heat embossing gave, so I wanted to experiment with the gold. Now, if you plan on trying this, I will refer you to my previous Piggy post which explains how the two work together and more tips and tricks to help your embossing experience be a successful one.
After I added the powder to my paste and heat set it, it turned this gorgeous metallic, dimensional gold!!! Just stunning! The rest of the card came together fairly simply, using the new Celebration Time stamp and die set. This is a pretty party packed set (whew! Say that 10 times fast!). I live all the additional dies that create such fun and playful elements, perfect for any party/card. Well, that's my card for today! Thanks for stopping by, and I will include a list of supplies used below. See you next post!

ReplyDeleteIt's my pleasure to share! 😊 It's really not too complicated. I think you just need to have patience in creating the stencil.
