Stampin' Up! Animal Outing Instagram Tip - Shimmer Paint Masking

Hey peaches! Did you know that you can create subtle shimmery patterns on your projects using the Shimmer Paints, a Stamping Sponge, and a mask? Well, I have a few simple steps to help you create a fun shimmery look with your paints using the Animal Outing Bundle. Here's a look at this adorable set:
Animal Outing Clear-Mount Bundle
To achieve this fun technique here are the steps :

1. Just pour a little bit of your Frost White Shimmer Paint onto your Silicone Craft Sheet.

      2. Add a tiny drop of Stampin’ Ink Refill (if additional color is desired). I used Smokey Slate Ink.

3. Next, use your sponge to dab over a mask with the paint. I created my mask by using one of the dies in the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies

4. Lastly, remove the mask (allow to dry) to reveal a stunning glimmer effect that adds a real “wow” factor.  It's THAT easy!

I tried to capture the beautiful shimmer in the picture below:

I hope that you have enjoyed today's technique! I have a quick video clip on my Instagram account that shows the shimmer. Make sure you check it out! Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you next post!

Hello Peaches! I'm here to participate in another fun blog hop with The Stamp Review Crew! If you're not familiar with The Stamp Review Crew, they are a group of very talented international Stampin' Up! demonstrators who get together on the first and third Monday of each month to bring you all kinds of delicious inspiration that features a different stamp set each new Monday.

The blog hops are archived at The Stamp Review Crew blog and you'll be able to click through the hops at any time, going directly to the posts as you wish for any of the hops. Just click on the banner of this post to go to the master blog roll for this hop also. If you have already started the hop, you will have come from the amazingly creative Tanya Boser.

Butterfly Gala Photopolymer Bundle

For this hop, we are featuring the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. Now the Butterfly Duet Punch is currently out of stock but the butterflies are quite easy to fussy cut and the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies are a great way to add additional dimension and texture. I have made quite a few cards and projects already with this stamps set and just can't stop myself. It's just too cute!

I wanted to start my card off by embossing the first panel with the Subtle Embossing Folder

Here's a close-up of the embossing:

I also used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to create a frame  Here's how you do it:
  1. Take one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and die cut a piece of cardstock.
  2. Because the dies are designed to create stitching on both the cut piece as well as the negative cut, you will have a stitched rectangle cut left behind.
  3. Take the negative stitched rectangle and cut around the stitches, leaving about 1/4" border and you will have your rectangle frame.
Super simple, right?

Well, that's my card for today's hop! Thanks so much for hopping along! Your next stop is the talented Cindy Elam! Check out her gorgeous blog and projects!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you next post!

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Gala - Ink Blending Card

Hey peaches and happy Friday! I have yet another butterfly card featuring the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. This time I'm using the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies to create an fun ink blended note card. Here's a look at the die set, so gorgeous right?

Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies

It's a very simple technique and I have shared it before, but I'll just go over the basics for those of you who are new to it. I,m using Bermuda Bay Ink and Lemon Lime Twist Ink for my blending. I start by inking up my Sponge Dauber in the lighter Lemon Lime color. I like to dab off just a tiny bit on scratch paper before adding the color to my project to avoid harsh lines. I very gently rub the color in circles until I get the desired saturation of color, adding more ink to my dauber and dabbing off first. Then I do the same with my Bermuda Ink, making sure to blend in the middle where the two colors meet. Here's how it turned out:

I also added a little ink blending in my background, along with some second generation stamping (stamp off once and then stamp onto your paper of the butterfly stamp. And that's how you do it! It's super simple. I hope you have enjoyed today's card. Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you next post!
