All The Good Things - Delayed Embossing Koi Thank You Card

Hey peaches! I'm so excited to share a fun and easy technique with you today! I like to call it "Delayed Embossing" and I'll explain why in just a moment. For this technique, I'll be using the All The Good Things Stamp Set, specifically the koi fish in the set.

All The Good Things Clear-Mount Stamp Set

For this technique you will also need the following supplies:
  1. Memento Black Ink
  2. Another Non-Pigmented Ink (I chose Mango Melody Ink)
  3. Sponge Dauber
  4. Clear Embossing Powder
  5. Heat Tool

I begin by inking up my koi fish stamp in Mango Melody Ink. Then I use my Sponge Dauber to add the black ink onto a few areas of the fish. I huff on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamp my image. Now here's where the "delayed embossing" part comes in. Give you stamped image about 5-10 seconds (this time will depend on your area's climate) and then add Clear Embossing Powder all over the image. Then heat set it. I love that when you use Clear Powder you can still see the gorgeous stamped color still.

The juicier parts of the stamp, or the parts that had the most concentration of ink will still be a bit wet and cling to the powder, allowing just some areas to be embossed.

You can see in the close-up image above the cool, shiny effect. I thought this was perfect for a fish image and almost looks like his scales are shinning from the water.

I hope that you have enjoyed this technique and will give it a try. It's so easy and produces such fun, unique results that will bump your projects up with such a "wow" factor. Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you next post!

It has beautiful flourished sentiments, elegant stitching, and really lovely images. I just can't stop creating with it!

Stitched All Around Clear-Mount Bundle

For today's projects, I created two watercolored card designs. For my first card, I began with a sheet of Watercolor Paper and used the largest stitched die to create a stitched background for added texture. Then I took my Aqua Painter to create a watercolor wash. I began by laying down a light wash of just water first over the general area that I wanted to add color. Then I took my Bermuda Bay Ink and added some color over the bottom portion of my watercolor background. Then, before the water and color dried, I added some Pineapple Punch Ink to the top part of my watercolor background, making sure that the colors mix in the middle. If you want a more intense color, add more layers of water color but allow each layer to dry before adding any other layers.

The next step is to create and add your layers. I stamped one of the circular stamps from the set in Black Memento Ink onto Pineapple Punch Cardstock and die cut it out using the largest circle die in the set. I wanted to create a sun/sunflower shape to go with the sweet sentiment so I took the stitched heart die from the set and cut out nine small hearts from Pineapple Punch Cardstock and glued them to the circle.I added a little Silver Mini Sequin Trim and a few sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment and that finished off the first card.

For the next card I began with another piece of Watercolor Paper and stamped the longest stamp from the set in Melon Mambo Ink, Flirty Flamingo Ink, and Mango Melody Ink in a gradient all over the background background. I spritzed it with my Stampin' Spritzer just to make the colors run a little and then heat set it. I also added a few flicks with coordinating Stampin' Write Markers. I then added a layer of Vellum on top of my background (this will be adhered with the die cut sentiment).

To create the main sentiment piece:

  1. Die cut with the largest label die from Whisper white Cardstock.
  2. Then take the "Enjoy your special day" stamp and use your Sponge Daubers to add the three coordinating colors in a gradient onto the stamp.
  3. Then stamp in the center of the die cut.

To finish off this card, I added some Whisper White Baker's Twine and a few
thread, some Silver Mini Sequin Trim, and Wood Frames Elements which are sponged with the same coordinating colors as used in the card.

Here's a close-up of my cards:

Beautiful Promenade Floral Card

Petal Promenade Suite for Paper Craft and Card Making

Hey peaches! I hope you've had a great week so far. I have a sweet card to share with you today featuring products from the Petal Promenade Suite. This suite has some lovely florals and gorgeous greenery, but even if you're not into florals,  you'll fall in love with the Beautiful Promenade Stamp Set. I's a gorgeous blend of geometric shapes, eye-catching patterns, and wonderful sentiments.

Beautiful Promenade Photopolymer Bundle

For my card today, I started with a base layer of Petal Pink Cardstock. I added a panel of the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper (DSP). I love that this DSP offers two sides with two different patterns, one with a more bold floral pattern and one with a more subtle pattern.

To create the extra texture for my main focal point, the flower, I first stamped the flower image in Versamark Ink onto Petal Pink Cardstock and heat embossed it in Gold Embossing Powder. I repeated the embossing process once more for an added layer of gold and dimension. Then I colored in the whole flower with my Wink of Stella Pen for added sparkle. While the flower was still drying, I took my Petal Pink Stampin' Write Marker and flicked on some ink splatters. Since the flower was still a bit damp, the splatters spread and created a bit of a watercolor look. Then I dried he flower and repeated the splatter step so that I would also get splatters that didn't spread. This creates so much texture and it's so simple!

The picture above captures all of that lovely dimension and texture achieved by these processes. I just love how gorgeous pinks and golds look together!

In the picture above I tried to capture the effect of the Wink of Stella. It's difficult to show all of that sparkle through the eye of a camera lens, but in person it's stunning!

Well. that completes my card for today! I hope you have enjoyed it and I'll see you next post!
