Stampin' Up! Beautiful Blizzard - Shimmer Paint Snowflake Christmas Card

Hey peaches! I hope that you're having a great week so far. I am on the blog today sharing a fun and easy technique using the brand new Beautiful Blizzard Stamp Bundle and Shimmer Paints.

This set is absolutely gorgeous! I love that the coordinating die set cuts out these delicate little snowflakes, but that's not all! Because the die is one whole piece, you can use the negative piece as well! I just love that.

Beautiful Blizzard Clear-Mount Bundle

For today's technique, we will be making a shimmer spread background. I thought this set would be perfect to combine with this technique because it's designed to create breathtaking flurries of snow. Here's how you create the background:

1. Take your Frost White Shimmer Paint and add four drops, spaced evenly, along one side of your Watercolor Paper. The reason I chose watercolor paper is because this paper will not absorb the paint instantly, allowing you to spread the paint smoothly.
2. Add a drop of Bermuda Bay Ink Refill to every other drop or shimmer paint.

3. Take an old gift card and spread the paint, in a smooth swipe, across the paper. You can go back and run over it again to spread it more evenly if you like.

The results are really quite unique and stunning! Here's a close-up of the finished card. Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you next post!

I wanted to include the little lunchbox note that I made using a little paint that was left over on my gift card after swiping. I just couldn't bear to waste it.

Hello Peaches! Country Home Photopolymer Stamp Set

For this hop, we are featuring the Country Home which is a part of the Country Lane Suite of products. At first  wasn't in love with this set, but as soon as I started stamping with it, it totally changed my mind. I love the sweet rustic jugs and gorgeous floral arrangements that fit so perfectly together. Here's a close-up of my card for today's hop:

I began with a panel of Watercolor Paper and my Aqua Painter. I created a watercolor wash background using Blueberry Bushel, Balmy Blue Ink, and Soft Sea Foam Ink. While that dried, I stamped my jug onto a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP) and cut it out. I used the same colors of ink to color my floral arrangement and cut it out to be adhered to my jug. I added a few cut pieces from the Delightfully Detailed DSP and layered it onto my watercolor background. I wanted to add some texture to my jug so I used some of the Braided Linen Trim to wrap around it. To finish
off my card, I added a few sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment

Well, that's my card for today's hop! Thanks so much for hopping along! Your next stop is the lovely and talented Tanya Boser! Check out her gorgeous blog and projects!

Stampin’ Up! Sea Of Textures - Watercolor Card With Sequin Octopus

Hey everyone! I’m just popping in real quick to share a fun card, loaded with texture! I’m featuring the Sea Of Textures Bundle. You know this has been a favorite of mine from the new catalog so I’ll be using it again and again, lol.

My watercolor background was created using Bermuda Bay Ink, Lemon Lime Twist Ink, and a touch of Soft Sea Foam Ink, on Watercolor Paper and with my Aqua Painter. For a little added texture I added some embossed fish with Embossing Paste. To do this, I used the fish die from the coordinating die set and repeatedly die cut fish from scrap paper to create a mask. Then I used the mask to spread the paste over my watercolor background.

The octopus is a fun addition of texture to my card. I thought it would be unique to add some sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment where his suckers would be for a fun, unexpected effect. It takes a bit of time and patience but if you use the brand new Take Your Pick Tool, you can easily pick up those tiny embellishments and add them quickly. I just love how it turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next post!
