Balloon Celebration Birthday Card

Hello again, Peaches! I'm bringing a fun birthday card design to you today, using the Balloon Celebration stamp set and coordinating punch. I just love using them together because they make my stamping world so easy. I can just ink and stamp my image and then just punch it out. And that's exactly what I did for this card. I first wanted to create an Ombre effect for the balloons so I color blended a piece of thick whisper white cardstock (no particular reason for choosing the thick over the regular except that I had scraps of it left to use-don't let those babies go to waste!) and went to town, inking the surface, using 3 different colors of ink with my blending tool. Oh, and by the way, in case this is your first time on my blog, I do recommend watercolor paper for color blending generally because it blends so much more smoothly. But just try it out and see what works for you. Then I just chose the area that I liked best for the balloons and punched them out and assembled my card. I wanted the sentiment to stand out so I heat embossed a strip of vellum with white embossing powder and adhered the ends (I made sure my strip of vellum was longer than the layer of cardstock it was going to be attached to) to the back and that finished my card! Thanks so much for stopping by. It really means a lot to me. As always, the products used to make this project are listed below.
