I have been having a lot of fun watercoloring the word dies lately. Next week I will be sharing a couple of cards that were inspired by my original “mini rainbow lunchbox card” that I had posted on Instagram this past Sunday (you can find me on Instagram as @lalipeach). For those cards I created an ombré rainbow effect. Keep checking back next week for those amazing cards. For now, let’s check out today’s card!
For this card I’m featuring the Petal Palette Stamp Set along with the Celebrate Thinlits. I started with a piece of 3 3/4” x 5” Whisper White Cardstock for my first panel. I stamped the largest floral image in Flirty Flamingo Ink randomly along the bottom left side of my panel. Then I used the spotted stamp in the same ink to add some extra texture.
Next I took a piece of Watercolor Paper and die cut out the word “celebrate”. While the word was still inside the paper it was cut from, I began to watercolor it. I did this because it’s easier to color and move around when in the paper. To create the ombré look I first started with Daffodil Delight Ink and using my Aqua Painter, I colored the top portion of the word. Then I took my Flamingo Ink and colored the bottom portion, making sure to mix the two colors in the middle where they meet. I set that aside to dry while I assembled the rest of my card.
I took some Whisper White Baker’s Twine and wrapped it twice around my main panel. Then I took some Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and created a small, thin banner and added an even smaller piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper on top of it. I slip this under the twine and adhered it to my panel. Then I added my ombré word on top by adding tiny pieces of Foam Adhesive Strips behind the tops and bottoms of each letter. This allowed it to be level over the twine. To finish off my card, I added a few sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment. Thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next post!
