Sunshine & Rainbows Sympathy Card

Hello sweet peaches! Happy Valentine's Day if you celebrate. We don't do a whole lot. My daughter and I make cards for her class and my hubby is always so sweet to leave a little treat for her on Valentine's Day morning. It was kind of a big deal when I was growing up. My mom would always make these really sweet valentine treat bags for each of my brothers and sisters, and myself of course, and we would always get so excited and look forward to it. Even though I know it's officially Valentine's Day here in the U.S., I want to share a non valentines card.

I was thinking that since where I live, we’ve had so much beautiful such beautiful weather I’d share a Sunshine & Rainbows Card with you today. It features the adorably cute Sunshine & Rainbows Bundle. Now I know that most rainbows traditionally have the colors red-violet, but I wanted to go a little different route. Since I planned on this being a sympathy card, I thought a few blues would be appropriate (and just a little sparkle to lighten the mood of the card).

To start I took a piece of Dapper Denim Cardstock, my Whisper White Ink Pad, and the cloud stamp from the set and began stamping clouds across my panel in Whisper White Ink. This ink is opaque so it shows up quite beautifully on darker cardstock such as the one I’m using today. I set that aside to dry while I began working on die cutting my rainbow. This set is so cool because the rainbow stamps actually have a sort of striped design and the coordinating dies are designed to cut them out individually. However, you can always just cut out colored cardstock with the dies just as I have done on my card today. I die cut two bands in Soft Sky Cardstock, one band in Marina Mist Cardstock, one in Dapper Denim, and one in Silver Glimmer Paper. I also die cut a few clouds out of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I arranged my rainbow and adhered it to a circle die cut and added the glittery clouds to my panel. To finish my card off I added some Silver Baker’s Twine and a few scattered Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I hope you like my card today! Thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next post!
