Hey Peaches! I'm participating in the Global Design Project 084 this week! I've been really enjoying challenging myself with these projects challenges. You can find this weeks challenge and all of the team's beautiful samples here on the Global Design Project page. This week we get to CASE (copy and selectively edit) the talented Michelle Last. In Michelle's design, I really love the texture of the background and all the layering of her focal elements. I wanted to incorporate that into my project.

To start my card off, I dry embossed my background, using the Petal Burst texture embossing folder and added some Dapper Denim watercoloring. While that dried, I created my focal point, the dragonfly. I created multiple layers for my dragonfly, using the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits dies. For the bottom layer, I really wanted a realistic look for the wings, so I heat embossed a mixture of clear embossing powder and the Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter into a window sheet. Then I added a layer of vellum that I  sponged with Dapper Denim ink. The last layer is just the main body of the Dragonfly in Dapper Denim.

I really enjoyed this challenge and I'm so glad you all stopped by! See you next time, Peaches!

April 2017 Hostess Code:

  1. Great card. Love the background & your dragonfly. I'm still to use this one.

  2. Your love is lovely, and I love the bling. So funny that you also have blue fingernails. :) A really great card, love it!

  3. You have created a beautifully layered and textured card. The subtle element of dazzling diamonds glitter underneath your dragonfly is so pretty, as if the dragonfly is about to fly away. Thankyou for sharing your project in the Global Design Project gallery this week.

  4. Beautiful card Lauren! Love the shimmery dragonfly wings and the little pop of gold in the die cut behind! xx
