Floral Essence - Stampin' Up Artisan Blog Hop

Perennial Essence

Well, hello peaches! Welcome to the Floral Essence Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! Each month our very talented and creative team of designers will be bringing you inspiration, so get comfortable and have a ton of fun hopping along with us. You may have just arrived from the wonderfully talented Kaylee Van Es' Blog. Just over the moon about what she has created!

Today, we will be showcasing the Floral Essence Bundle. These products come from the Perennial Essence Suite and all coordinate beautifully with the hand-painted Perennial Essence DSP (Designer Series Paper), and gorgeous Organdy Ribbon (plus more)-everything you need for that unique artistic or floral look! What I love about this set is the variety of floral images and sweet sentiments in the most gorgeous font. There are 14 stamps and this set coordinates with the Perennial Flower Punch. This perfect punch creates the loveliest flowers when you layer up the punched pieces. I just love all of the possibilities!

   FLORAL ESSENCE BUNDLE

For my project today, I created a scrapbook page. I was able to get a soft watercolor wash by first adding a thin layer of Gesso (a substance that is very similar to white acrylic paint, only thinner, prepares the surface for painting) to my 12 x 12 Whisper White Cardstock. Be sure to give the Gesso time to dry completely before adding any watercolor. Then I used my Aqua Painter to add subtle color in an ombre fashion, using Flirty Flamingo Ink, Grapefruit Grove Ink, and So Saffron Ink, making sure to blend wherever two colors met. Here's close-up a look at the effect:

I also watercolored a stitched circle in the same colors and embossed the sentiment in gold. I wanted the flowers to be soft and subtle as well, but to still stand out, so I embossed them in white onto Vellum Cardstock. I also took one of the leaf images and embossed it in gold throughout my background to tie everything all together.

Here's one more close-up of those beautiful flower images:

These products were so fun and inspiring and I know I had a blast using them. I hope you have enjoyed today's scrapbook page (full list of supplies below). Keep hopping along and check out my other fellow teammates’ pages. They have some pretty amazing projects to share.
