Stampin' Up! Picture Perfect Birthday - Metallic Color Changing Technique

Hey peaches! I have a fun little technique for you today. I'm not sure if there's a name for it but basically we're turning a gold metallic item into a silver metallic one, so maybe we could call it "metallic color changing"? I just know that it was created out of necessity, and that's the mother of invention, right?!

It's really quite simple. Here are the easy steps:
1. take your gold metallic element (I'm using a star paper clip from the All Is Bright Paper Clips) and press it into your Versamark Ink Pad

2. Then dip your metallic element into the color of embossing powder you wish to change it to. For example, I chose to turn mine silver so I dipped mine into Silver Embossing Paste. *I find that having a pair of tweezers to hold it while dipping is helpful.

3. Take your freshly powder-dipped element and use your Heat Tool to melt the powder. You will now have silver metallic paper clip!

This is such a fun and easy technique! You could create white elements, copper, black. This gives you so many more options with your metallic elements and makes them extremely versatile.

I used the star paper clips to create a birthday card for a family member. I've included all of the supplies used below. Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you next post!
