Picture Perfect Birthday Card - #GDP121

Hey peaches! Surprise! I am in fact having my regular Wednesday blog post. I apologize for any confusion but we’ve had to move a couple of things around and the schedule had to be readjusted for this week, but next week will be scheduled a little differently, with a post on Monday (as usual) and then a post on Thursday instead of Wednesday.  Sorry for any confusion. Now, onto today’s project!

This week I’m participating in the Global Design Project weekly challenge, and this week is a color challenge-my favorite!!! It's a beautiful mix of Sweet Sugarplum, Bermuda Bay and Peekaboo Peach. If you haven’t heard of the Global Design Project, check them out here. They provide some amazing fun crafty theme challenges each week. There are also some great samples created by the GDP design team for inspiration so definitely go check them out!

So for my card today I started by using so adorable goodies from the Picture Perfect Birthday Suite. I took a 5” x 3 3/4” piece of Peekaboo Peach Cardstock and embossed it using the Simple Stripes textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I adhered that to my Peekaboo Peach Cardstock base. Then I used the same embossing folder to emboss a 1/2” piece of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock in landscape orientation, so that the stripes go from top to bottom, not side to side. After I ran it thru, I folded it in half and cut snips almost all the way through, just stopping at the middle to create my own Picture Perfect Paper Ribbon. Since, unfortunately this ribbon is no longer available, I decided to get creative and create my own and I love how the stripped embossing folder helps me to know where to cut.

I also cut out a banner in Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock, stamped ink Sweet Sugarplum Ink and a scalloped circle, using the Layering Circle Framelits Dies out of Bermuda Bay Cardstock. Then I stamped and cut out a few party blowers, candles, and bows from the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set. I just can’t seem to stop using this set! It’s so fun and festive and it’s packed with great images and sentiments that are perfect for and celebration! I added these to my card, along with some Peekaboo Peach Baker's Twine. To finish off my card, I added a few sequins from the  Iridescent Sequin Assortment. Thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next post!

I also added a picture below of how I stamped the inside of my card. I think it's fun when you open a birthday card and the party continues on the inside.

    1. Thank you so much! Yes, you must! Of course if you have the fringe scissors it will be a lot easier. 😉
