Hello Peaches! I'm here to participate in another fun blog hop with The Stamp Review Crew! If you're not familiar with The Stamp Review Crew , they are a group of very talented international Stampin' Up! demonstrators who get together on the first and third Monday of each month to bring you all kinds of delicious inspiration that features a different stamp set each new Monday.
The blog hops are archived at The Stamp Review Crew blog and you'll be able to click through the hops at any time, going directly to the posts as you wish for any of the hops. Just click on the banner of this post to go to the master blog roll for this hop also. If you have already started the hop, you will have come from the lovely Yapha Mason.
For this hop, we are featuring the Lemon Zest Stamp Set. This set is so fun and packed full of juicy lemons (or limes if you choose) and adorably funny lemon-themed puns. It's great for encouragement cards, simple "hello" cards or just about any type of occasion you need. I especially love the "to my main squeeze" sentiment.
I began with a panel of Watercolor Paper and first inked up my lemon in Pineapple Punch Ink. I took my Sponge Dauber and Inked on some Mango Melody Ink around some of the edges for a little variation in color. I stamped the image directly onto my paper. I repeated this step for my second Lemon. Then I used the same technique for the leaves except I used Lemon Lime Twist Ink and Granny Apple Green Ink.
After I stamped the leaves I spritzed the whole panel of watercolor paper, using my Stampin' Spritzer to make the color spread and blend a little. To add a little more watercolor effects, I took a piece of acetate and added a tiny bit of Pineapple Ink to it and spritzed it. Then I dabbed the ink on the acetate onto my panel, around my lemons. I think this just adds to the watercolor look. It's also a great way to hide mistakes (wink, wink).
To finish off my card, I stamped my sentiment and added some sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment and a small bow created from Whisper White Baker's Twine.
Well, those are my projects for today's hop! Thanks so much for hopping along! Next stop is the very talented Bronwyn Eastley! Check out her lovely blog and projects!
