Well, hello peaches! Welcome to the Needlepoint Nook Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! Each month our very talented and creative team of designers will be bringing you inspiration, so get comfortable and have a ton of fun hopping along with us. You may have just arrived from the wonderfully talented Kaylee Van Es' Blog. Just over the moon about what she has created!
Today, we will be showcasing the Needle &Thread Bundle. These products come from the Needlepoint Nook Suite and all coordinate beautifully with sweet little buttons, colorful DSP (Designer Series Paper), and gorgeous thread-everything you need for that unique stitched look! What I love about this set is all of the fun stitched images and sweet sentiments. There are 17 stamps and 12 dies. Additionally, there are some fun dies that create stitched designs. There are so many possibilities!
For my first card, I stamped my flowers in second generation Smokey Slate Ink for a subtle look. I wanted to add a little something to them to dress them up a bit so another technique used here is the sprinkled embossing powder onto the petals. It's supper easy to do and creates a unique, textured look.
Here's how you do it:
- First, take your Aqua Painter and tap it randomly in spots on your flowers (make sure to do this before adding them to your card front).
- Next, take your Silver Embossing Powder and sprinkle it over those "water-sprinkled" areas. This will allow the powder to stick temporarily.
- Then use your Heat Tool to heat emboss those areas with the powder, and you'll end up with some lovely gold embossed sprinkles in your background.
I'ts really very pretty and you can see that lovely stitched die used in my background here as well:
For my next card, I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to create a subtle embossed shape in my background. I think the rectangle dies pair perfectly with this entire suite. I have layered on a few flowers, images, and die cuts stamped in Powder Pink Ink and Smokey Slate Ink and die cut from Balmy Blue Cardstock. I finished it off with a little bling, of course, from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment.
My final card uses some of that lovely Needlepoint Nook DSP in the background and more layering of stamped images and die cut elements. You can see how lovely that stitched label die looks cut in Balmy Blue Cardstock AND it coordinates with the Pretty Label Punch which I used to punch it out!. I just ADORE the stitched edge!
These products were so fun and inspiring and I know I had a blast using them. I hope you have enjoyed all of today's cards and designs (full list of supplies below).
