The stamps actually were designed to coordinate with the brand new Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. However, for today’s card, I’m using my inks and (you guessed it) Aqua Painter. I just love how you can color these images in so many different ways!
First, I began with a piece of Vellum Cardstock. I took the image from the stamp set that looked like a string or line and stamped it across my vellum piece in Berry Burst Ink. I cut a piece of Powder Pink Cardstock to be slightly larger than the vellum and mounted the stamped vellum on top, just adding adhesive to the center as I knew I would be covering that area.
While the ink on the vellum dried, I stamped each of the bird images from the set in Night of Navy ink onto Watercolor Paper. Keep in mind that the Night of Navy ink will run when mixed with water. I wanted this result so I didn’t mind, but if you don’t want that to happen, just stamp your image in Archival Ink instead. After I stamped both bird images, I took my Pool Party Ink Pad and my Aqua Painter and began coloring in my bird. As I colored through the bird’s body, the Night of Navy would bleed into the Pool Party Ink and I loved how they blended together.
After the birds dried, I cut them out and assembled the rest of my card. The last embellishment I added was the Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I wanted them to match my Berry Burst elements on my card as closely as possible so I took my Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends Marker and colored the rhinestones.
