Seriously the Best Project
Kit Alternatives
Hello, everyone! My name is
Lauren Alarid. I’m a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in California and 2020 Artisan
Design Team member, and I am so happy to be sharing my creativity on the
company blog. There are so many great project kits that Stampin’ Up! Has to
offer, but one that really caught my eye was the “Seriously the Best ProjectKit”.
I enjoyed creating with it so much that I came up with a few
more alternative ways to use it.
These kits are great for
making gorgeous cards without having to worry about trying to pair products or
stressing over color coordination. All the hard work has been done for you in
these kits. All you need is the coordinating “Seriously the Best” Stamp Set, some adhesive, ink, and scissors.
One thing that I love to do
with these kits is to turn them into a gift. This particular set comes with
this darling floral box that coordinates perfectly with the card designs, and I
knew I just had to create a pretty little banner for the top. To get this sweet
little banner look, I just die cut some stars (using the Stitched Star Dies) from Mint Macaron Cardstock and Balmy Blue Cardstock and cut the tips off. I love the stitched look that they give the
banner pieces. I used the thread from the kit to attach the banner pieces to
and used the Lined Alphabet Stamp Set to spell out “thanks”. I adhered
the banner greeting on top of the box, along with a panel created using one of
the Terracotta Tile patterned card fronts.
The card alternatives came
together using mainly elements from the kit. For the Mint Macaron and
Terracotta Tile colored cards, I used the provided card bases and kit elements to
create a couple different layouts.
For the Balmy Blue card,
however, I used one of the coordinating card front pieces from the kit and
paired it with my own patterned paper. To get this look, I simply took a piece
of Balmy Blue Cardstock, some Balmy Blue Ink, and the coordinating
stamp set, and stamped the floral images all over my cardstock. I stamped the
larger floral image in 2nd generation ink (stamped off once) and the
smaller image in full strength ink. That blue pairs beautifully with that
adorable mint colored bird.
I wanted to include a final picture
(below) so that you can see how beautiful and simple creating your own patterned
paper can be.
I love finding versatility in
my products. It’s so satisfying to not only get these lovely kits in our hands,
but to be able to use them well beyond their intended design. I hope that you
have enjoyed these great alternatives as much as I have had designing these
alternatives.
Happy Crafting!
