Shimmer Detailed Lasercut DSP - Stampin' Up Artisan Blog Hop

Well, hello peaches! Welcome to the Shimmer Detailed DSP Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! Each month our very talented and creative team of designers will be bringing you inspiration, so get comfortable and have a ton of fun hopping along with us. You may have just arrived from the wonderfully talented Kaylee Van Es' Blog. Just over the moon about what she has created!

Today, we will be showcasing the  Shimmer Detailed Lasercut Designer Series Paper (DSP). I am also pairing this paper with the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set which coordinates beautifully. From the moment I saw this paper in the catalog I knew I had to have it! You get 6-12x12 sheets (2  of each design). One side is a shimmery vanilla while the other side is white. I love all of the gorgeous delicate details and the shimmer is to die for. In today's designs I will be showing you different techniques and ways it can be used to dress up your cards/projects.

For my first card, I wanted to use some of the papers as a mask to create a subtle embossed background. You can do this with just about any of the designs in this paper pack.

Here's how you do it:
  1. First, choose a design from the DSP pack to be your mask and place it over your panel (pictured below).
  2. Next, take your Embossing Paste and spread it evenly over the DSP mask.
  3. Remove the mask and allow it to dry.

Here's a closeup of the effect:

It creates a very subtle, yet pretty background. Here is a close up of the background I created with another one of the pieces from the DSP pack. You can see that I also use some Bermuda Bay Ink and some Granny Apple Green Ink to sponge some color onto a few floral images from the DSP:

For my next card, I just cut out one of the square shaped designs, along with some of the floral images from the DSP and used them to draw your focus to the sentiment. I love how many possibilities you have with this stunning paper.

I made one final project which was a birthday gift tag. I simply used some more floral images that I cut from the Shimmer DSP to add some detail and interest to my tag. I just love how all of these projects turned out.

These products were so fun and inspiring  I really enjoyed discovering many new ways of using them. I hope you have enjoyed all of today's cards and designs (full list of supplies below). Keep hopping along and check out my other fellow teammates’ pages.
