I think it's important to mention that this kit does not come with and inks or cardstock so you may want to grab some to use with this set. The coordinating colors of this medley are Melon Mambo, Night of Navy, and rose gold.
The stamp set is absolutely stunning too:
Don't you just adore those gorgeous flower and leaf images?! And the dies that coordinate with this set just add to it's appeal! Not only do they cut out all of the images in this set, making it so easy to add tons of layers and details, (perfect for the avid crafter) but there are additional dies like the gorgeous filigree leaves that offer the perfect delicate touch to your projects. You can see how beautifully both the images and die cuts layer together in my card below:
I had so much fun creating many different color combos for my two-toned flowers, but my favorite combo has been the Melon Mambo and Petal Pink one that coordinates well with this kit. To get the lovely two-toned effect of these flowers, it's quite simple. First ink up your image in the softer ink color (in this case Petal Pink Ink). Next, ink up a Sponge Dauber in the darker tone (Melon Mambo Ink) and dab it onto the centers or edges of your flowers, and you will have some lovely two-toned flowers. I used the same technique on my leaves in Balmy Blue Ink and Night of Navy Ink.
I also wanted to add a few rose gold dimensional dots in the center of my flowers. I just love how they pop right off the centers and add so much dimension. Creating these with the Rose Gold Paint is fun and easy.
- First take a toothpick and cut off the point end so that you have a blunt end.
- Next, dip the blunt end of your toothpick into the Rose Gold Shimmer Paint and touch it to the center of your flower.
- Repeat step #2 until you have about five or six dots in the center of your flower.
- Lastly. use your Heat Tool to heat the paint dots until they bubble a bit. Allow them to dry and you will have dimensional paint dots.
Here's a close-up of the centers and the beautiful effect:
