Southern Serenade - Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Well, hello peaches! Welcome to the Picture Perfect Birthday Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! Each month our very talented and creative team of designers will be bringing you inspiration, so get comfortable and have a ton of fun hopping along with us. You may have just arrived from Kim McGillis' Blog. I just can’t wait to see what she has created!

Today, I will be showcasing the Southern Serenade Stamp Set. This set is so gorgeous and elegant, and I love how it can be used for a number of occasions, as you can see in my projects below.

For today's projects, I created both a "thank you" card as well as a birthday card. These cards are full of texture and I think this set lends itself to the rich textured look.

On the pink toned card, I began with a panel of Powder Pink Cardstock. I took my Aqua Painter and Powder Pink Ink and created a simple striped background. since this is not watercolor paper, you will want to just pass over the cardstock with the pen lightly and avoid adding too much water so that the paper doesn't pill. The next layer uses one of the embossing folders from the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. I used the folder on the center of a piece of Berry Burst Cardstock and then just scored on either side of the embossed cardstock for a "finished" look. I stamped the flower image from the stamp set in Berry Burst Ink and then used my Aqua Painter to color in the flowers. Because of the intensity of this water based ink, I didn't need too add any color when paintinf the flowers. I just drew color from the edges of the stamped image for a soft watercolor look. To finish off my card, I of course, had to add a few sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment.

For the matching card I basically did all the same steps. The only difference is that I used the brand new Blueberry Bushel from the 2018-2020 In Colors along with Pool Party. I hope you have enjoyed all of today's cards and designs. Keep hopping along and check out my other fellow teammates’ pages. They have some pretty amazing projects to share. I’ve listed them, along with all products used below or you can just click the link below to hop to Linda Van Wely-Zwolle
