Small Changes, Big Difference Amazing You Cards

Hey Peaches! I have the honor to be sharing my creativity on Stampin' Up!'s company blog. If you'd like to see it you can go to their Stampin' Up! Facebook Page and see it under their "notes" section or just click here. Today I will be giving you a little sneak peek into my creative process. I just know you’re going to love what I have to share today!

Often times I like to create projects/cards in multiple quantities for certain events like birthdays, showers, etc. If I try to come up with a new design for each one, it can become quite time consuming (and quite frankly, a little boring). To remedy this, I come up with a generic design or layout and just change one aspect of my project.

For example in my cards today, I kept everything the same in my cards except I changed the background. I colored the flowers, from the Sale-A-Bration set Amazing You, the same, used the same accents, and even put all of the elements in the same orientation. To change up my background, you’ll notice my first card uses the Simple Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

In my second card, I took the same size WhisperWhite Cardstock and cut strips of various cardstock colors to create a striped pattern. I cut small strips of 1/8” x 4” Gold Foil Sheets, 1/4” x 4” Berry Burst Cardstock, and 1/2” x 4” Tempting Turquoise Cardstock and adhered them in a pattern on my card panel.

You’ll notice there is a major difference between the two cards and all I did was change one element of my cards’ design. This strategy could also work if you have a layout or design element that you just love; you can carry over that desired aspect on to a new project and get beautiful results that you’re sure to love. It takes the guess work out of designing new projects and allows you to create efficiently without losing any uniqueness to your creations.

I hope that this little creative tip was helpful and will encourage you to look at each of your creations with new limitless potential. After all, if you can get more out of your crafting with minimum frustration and maximum enjoyment , you will feel more successful and inspired to create more often. Well, those are my projects for today! Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you next post!
