Hang Your Stocking Christmas Card

Hello, sweet peaches! I have a quick post to share with you today. I’ve been playing catch-up lately with some projects that I had volunteered to help with st my daughter’s school, so that’s been taking up a lot of my down time. But..as many of you may know by now-there’s ALWAYS time for crafting somewhere, even if I have to do it at 1am in the morning, lol. So without further ado, on to my card.

I’ve been trying to challenge myself to try more non traditional color combinations for my Christmas cards. Now ordinarily I’m 100% a traditionalist all the way. I love the greens and reds and golds or even a little silver in my Christmas colors. Yet, I am also aware that not everyone loves the same things as me, so I’ve been trying a few different color combos.

This time I’m trying a very “Christmas chic” or elegant look. I wanted a bold clean look for this holiday card, so I began with die cutting some stocking from the Christmas Stockings Die Set out of Basic Black, Whisper White, and Real Red Cardstock. Then I took a panel of Basic Black cut at 4” x 5 1/4” and ran it through my big shot with the Holly Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I layered this on top of my Basic Black card base. I felt like my card needed something to ground the stockings so  I took a smaller piece of Real Red Cardstock and stamped it with the Diagonal Striped Background Stamp in Real Red Ink. Then I layered that on top of my embossed panel and tucked a few snowflakes behind it. Then I arranged my stockings onto the red stamped piece. For the final touch I took some Silver Metallic Thread and die cut the word “Noel” from the same die set in Basic Black cardstock and added the thread in a semi messy fashion behind my sentiment. And that completed my card for today. I hope you liked today’s project and I’m so happy you stopped by! See you next post!
