Stampin' Up! Watercolor Botanical Blooms Cards

Peaches! We only have about two weeks left in May! Can you believe it?! I think it just hit me as I was going over the agenda for my Kindergartener's final weeks for school. It seems to me that I only just sent her off to her first day of school and her adorable backpack was almost bigger than she was. Now, she's a few short weeks away from summer, and then 1st grade! I'm trying desperately to cherish these fleeting moments, but they slip away like sand between my fingers. I'm sure many of you parents can relate.

With the final weeks of May coming fast, I wanted to make sure to remind you of all the amazing sales on retiring products that are happening now until the end of May. If there's something you've been eyeing, I definitely recommend picking it up as these items are going fast! Also, the Eastern Palace Bundles will be gone as well. You'll be able to purchase them separately later. However, you won't be able to get the awesome bonus items included. Check out the links below for more details.

One particular set I'm really going to miss is the gorgeous Botanical Blooms stamp set and dies. Every time I have used this set, I have found that I am able to create stunning cards with very little effort. You can use either separately or combine them and get elegant and lovely results. It's great for special events like weddings and parties.

In my project today, I used this set to create a graduation card as well as a bright and cheerful "thank you" card.

I wanted to focus on the brightly watercolored one on the right. If you follow me, you know I absolutely LOVE watercolor. One of my favorite ways to watercolor is to create a sort of "wave" pattern with my colors. To accomplish this, I begin with a piece of watercolor paper, and I really make sure to put down plenty of water so that the ink moves naturally along with my brushstrokes. I take my colors and add lines of color in a wave pattern in each color until I get to the bottom. If I wish to intensify the colors, I just dry it with my heat tool and then add another layer of "ink waves". You can continue this process until you get your desired color intensity.

After my layers dried, went back and added a few waves of glitter with my Wink of Stella pen. Lastly, I die cut my flowers and layered them onto my watercolored panel, and that's my projects for today. Thanks for stopping by! See you next post, Peaches!
