#TGIFC328 Color Challenge

   

Hey peaches and thanks for joining me for another fun TGIF challenge this week! My card for this week's challenge uses one of my favorite colors-Coastal Cabana, so here's my design using the One Happy Family stamp set. Here's my submission:

I thought that with such a great color combo, I would make a few masculine birthday cards (especially since I always seem to e low on them), so I incorporated the Suite & Tie Dies into one of my cards. I also love the bold look of the black and white stripes in the Pattern Party DSP. Here's a close up:

For my second card, I used the  "happy" from the Christmas Cheer Dies to create subtle texture in my background. Here's one more look at the details:

#TGIFC324 Sketch Challenge

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge, which means we get play along with a fun new sketch theme!

My card for this week's challenge was based of the design sketch above, so here's my design using the Sweet Strawberry stamp set. Here's my submission:

I divided up my base by embossing just the bottom corner of my card with the Bark 3D Embossing Folder. Then I divided the two sides using a strip of the Pattern Party DSP. I stamped a few strawberries and greenery from the set in Memento Ink and did a lot of fussy cutting. I've used Flirty Flamingo Ink and Granny Apple Blends for the berries, flowers, and leaves. My card for this week's challenge was "farmhouse chic", so chose to make my design using the Plentiful Plants Bundle. Here's my submission:

I have been totally loving the farmhouse chic look in home decor, so I was super excited to come up with something inspired by this theme. I thought a good way to capture that farmhouse look was to incorporate the Window Flower Box Dies with the In Good Taste DSP, so I used the hinges and added them to the wood grain paper. My card for this week's challenge was made using the Plentiful Plants Bundle. Here's my submission:

I used the Ornate Frames Dies for the three background square elements, layered on top of a panel embossed with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder. Then I layered on my focal point which was my hanging plant. I wanted the pot to have that "freshly watered" look so I used my Cinnamon Cider Blends to color the bottom portion. Here's a close up:

My card for this week's challenge was made using the Brilliant Wings Dies and the Many Mates Stamp Set. Here's my submission:

To get the striped background look from the sketch sample, I cut 1/2 inch strips of paper and layered them onto my  background. It is a very simple but effective effect and allows me to use up my extra paper scraps. For extra detail and dimension, I added layers of butterflies, one using the brand new Pattern Party DSP, which is quickly becoming my new favorite paper. Here's a close up:

My cards for this week's challenge were made using the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle. I love a good ombre challenge so I was excited to create projects with my own spin on this theme. Here's my submission:

Since the butterfly DSP sold out, I decided to recreate that look using So Saffron, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay Inks on Watercolor Paper, and then die cut the large butterfly for my main focal image.  Here's a close up:

This week's challenge is a color challenge and I'm super excited to share the way I incorporated these colors!

My card for this week's challenge was made using the Free As a Bird Stamp. This color challenge was certainly a challenge for me as I typically don't combine complimentary colors together, but I'm glad I went for it! Here's my submission:

I used Daffodil Delight and Gorgeous Grape Inks to watercolor my background. I also colored my main birds image with Blends in the color challenge colors. Here's a close up:
