Beautiful Promenade Floral Card

Petal Promenade Suite for Paper Craft and Card Making

Hey peaches! I hope you've had a great week so far. I have a sweet card to share with you today featuring products from the Petal Promenade Suite. This suite has some lovely florals and gorgeous greenery, but even if you're not into florals,  you'll fall in love with the Beautiful Promenade Stamp Set. I's a gorgeous blend of geometric shapes, eye-catching patterns, and wonderful sentiments.

Beautiful Promenade Photopolymer Bundle

For my card today, I started with a base layer of Petal Pink Cardstock. I added a panel of the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper (DSP). I love that this DSP offers two sides with two different patterns, one with a more bold floral pattern and one with a more subtle pattern.

To create the extra texture for my main focal point, the flower, I first stamped the flower image in Versamark Ink onto Petal Pink Cardstock and heat embossed it in Gold Embossing Powder. I repeated the embossing process once more for an added layer of gold and dimension. Then I colored in the whole flower with my Wink of Stella Pen for added sparkle. While the flower was still drying, I took my Petal Pink Stampin' Write Marker and flicked on some ink splatters. Since the flower was still a bit damp, the splatters spread and created a bit of a watercolor look. Then I dried he flower and repeated the splatter step so that I would also get splatters that didn't spread. This creates so much texture and it's so simple!

The picture above captures all of that lovely dimension and texture achieved by these processes. I just love how gorgeous pinks and golds look together!

In the picture above I tried to capture the effect of the Wink of Stella. It's difficult to show all of that sparkle through the eye of a camera lens, but in person it's stunning!

Well. that completes my card for today! I hope you have enjoyed it and I'll see you next post!

#TGIF172 Sketch Challenge

TGIF Challenges!

Oh my goodness, guys! I'ts Friday and I'm so thrilled to have been asked to be a guest designer for this week's TGIF Challenge! This week's theme is a sketch challenge and I gotta say, I'm pretty proud of myself for attempting a sketch challenge. Ordinarily I would shy away from them. I usually feel quite intimidated by them, but here I am doing it! And, guys, this is a fun one!

Click on the pic above for more inspiration or to play along!

For this challenge, I decided to mix the Southern Serenade Stamp Set with the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies. I love how beautifully these pair together even though they were not necessarily meant to. I used the largest die, designed to add a "stitched effect", on my bottom portion made from Smokey Slate Cardstock. I also used the long, narrow stitched die on a 1/4" piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock to add a little detail to it.

I used Smokey Slate Ink to stamp my main focal flower as well as the background (the background was done in second generation ink, so stamped off once then onto my background). I used my Bermuda Bay Ink and Aqua Painter to color in the centers of the flowers and Granny Apple Green for the leaves. I just LOVE these colors together!

To finish off my card, I added some White Baker's Twine and a few sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment. For your convenience I have provided a list of the supplies used below.

This was such a fun challenge and I'm so happy and honored to be a part of these amazing weekly challenges! I hope that you were inspired and I look forward to seeing you next post!

Oh So Eclectic Card Embossed Three Ways

Hey peaches! I wanted to share a card with you today that is jam-packed with texture! It's actually a fairly simple card in that there's not a lot to it, but appears to be so much more because of all of the texture. I have used 3 different types of embossing. See if you can spot them all.

Today I'm featuring the Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set and Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies. This set is one of my favs if you couldn't already tell, haha. It's definitely gotten a lot of use!

I began with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock for my first panel. I wanted to create a bright, tropical background with plenty of white space and since I had a lot of leftover colored Embossing Paste that I had saved from my last Technique Tuesday posts (You can find that post here), I wanted to pit it to good use.

First I needed to create a stencil for my background. I used a piece of Window Sheet and the largest die in the set with all of the diamond shapes. After running the die and Window Sheet through my Big Shot I was left with a stencil. I used my previously colored embossing paste (I used Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, and Pineapple Punch Re-Inkers) to spread over my background, and allowed it to dry. I noticed that I smeared a few areas, but i didn't mind because I think it adds charm to the card.

While it dried, I used a stitched circle and ran it through my Big Shot with the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I love adding more than one type of embossing! There are actually 3 types on this card. I used embossing paste, an embossing folder, and embossing powder (for the sentiment). I think that by adding more than one type of embossing, you get so much texture, easily!

To finish off my card, I added the sentiment and a few embellishments. And that's it! See, I told you it was simple! I'm so happy you stopped by my blog today and I'll see you next post!
