Playful Backgrounds and Sunshine Wishes Ombré Watercolor Card

Hello Lovely Peaches! I have a fun card to share with you today. I've been really enjoying watercoloring lately and wanted to try it with the beautiful new in-colors, Emerald Envy and Dappe Denim.

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and squeezed a little ink into the lid of both my Emerald and Denim ink pads so that I could use my Aqua painters to paint with it. The key to watercoloring is the amount of water you add. If you want a more bold look, you use less water. If you are wanting a more washed out, lighter result, you'll want to use more water. It's always helpful to test the technique out on scratch paper but keep in mind that watercolor paper can hold a lot more water and ink.

After watercoloring my background with the two inks, I hear set it and the treated the entire surface with anti-static powder from my embossing buddy. This is and important step that will prevent embossing powder from sticking where it isn't supposed to. I then took the background stamp, from Playful Backgrounds, that looks like bubbles and stamped my background. I added white embossing powder and heat set it.

To create the ombré greeting, I used my ink sponges and ink blended Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim. After that, I just dipped the bottom third in Versamark ink and added a mixture of gold embossing powder and gold glitter and heat set that, and that's today's card! Thanks so much for stopping by and as always, all supplies used for this card are listed below. Flourishing Phrases Textured Monochromatic Card

Happy Tuesday Peaches! I hope your week is going well. I have been enjoying, immensely, the new Stampin' Up catalogs! There's so much amazing product; which is great because that means a world of creative opportunities for us crafters, right?!?!

Well, speaking of creative opportunities (see what I did there 😂), I've been so excited to try out probably 100 different projects with this Flourishing Phrases set. It's so breathtakingly beautiful that, honestly, I feel like it practically does the work for you! This stamp set is full of lovely sentiments and the framlits, though intricate and delicate, are so fun to add to your project and really provide a uniquely stunning result.

In my project today, I went for a more monochromatic design. I began by running both my second and third layer (both in Whisper White cardstock) through my BigShot, using the Petal burst textured embossing folder. I just love how these embossing folders add just the perfect touch of texture. I made the card base out of Perfect Plum cardstock and added one of the embossed layers to it at a tilted angle. With the next layer that was embossed, I took my sponges and my inks (I used some Wisteria Wonder, Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plum, and the new in-color Sweet Sugarplum (okay now I'm getting hungry) and did a little ink blending. The key to this technique is to start light and off the actual intended project. You can always add more color, but you can't take it off.

After it was blended, I took some Rich Razzleberry cardstock and a sentiment from the Pretty Kitty stamp set and used my Versamark to stamp my sentiment. In order to break the sentiment into the 3 pieces I did, I just inked only the areas that I wanted. To do this, I covered the parts of the stamp I didn't want inked with washi tape and DON'T FORGET TO TAKE OFF THE WASHI TAPE BEFORE STAMPING EACH TIME, or else you'll get a big blob of ink from the stamped tape-ask me how I know this 😞. The good news is that if that does happen to you, you'll likely never make that mistake again. So, anyway, after stamping my sentiment and adding white embossing powder, I hear set the powder, which, to this day, is still a magical sight. I then took that same Rich Razzleberry cardstock and cut "happy" out of it, using the Hello You thinlit dies. I also cut the flourish-y flower from the Flourishing Phrases thinlits out of Whisper White cardstock and assembled my card. The final touch: a few rhinestones, and that's today's card! Thanks so much for stopping by and as always, all supplies used for this card are listed below. Christmas Pines Jingle Bell Card

Hey Peaches! I know it's been a little while since I've posted. I've had family staying with me for the past couple of weeks and, as I'm sure many of you can attest to, it can be chaotic, but fun. Well regardless, I couldn't resist getting in my craft room and creating a fun new project to share with you!

My card today is made with the gorgeous new stamp set, Christmas Pines, that's available through January 3rd, 2017. I started by stamping my background on my Soft Suede cardstock, but I wanted a softer color for my background so I chose Tip Top Taupe to stamp the pine cones.

After finishing my background, I planned to create a spray of pine needles to rest behind my sentiment. I cut the pine sprigs out of Old Olive and Garden Green cardstock.

I stamped my sentiment in Real Red on Whisper White cardstock. I arranged my pine needles, gold baker's twine, gold sequin trim, and adorable mini jingle bells behind the sentiment and adhered it to my card base, and that's the card! Thanks so much for stopping by and as always, all supplies used for this card are listed below. The stamp bundle will be available staring September 1st. You can just click on the links below and they will take you directly to the product! Thanks and see you next post!
