Bubble Over Watercolor Birthday Card

Hello my sweet peaches! I hope that you had a beautiful weekend! I’m back to start your week off with a “pop”, soda pop that is. I think any celebration is deserving of a little bubbles and fizz and today’s card doesn’t disappoint. I’m featuring the Bubble Over Bundle that is packed full of adorable fizzy drink stamps and dies, bottle caps, bubbles, straws, and anything else to dress up your bubbly beverages! I just adore this set. The sentiments pair perfectly and work for so many occasions, their are tons of different ways to create deliciously sweet labels for your drinks, and you can create the most fun projects with so many options; the sky’s the limit!

For today’s card, I went with a watercolor background. I was going for a “spilled soda” look. I took my Bermuda Bay Ink and Lemon Lime Twist Ink and used my Aqua Painter to add each of the colors (Bermuda Bay towards the top and Lemon Lime Twist towards the bottom) to a piece of Watercolor Paper. I made sure to mix the two colors where they met in the middle to create a gorgeous hue of green. I let that dry and added a few flicks of ink for a spattered look in the edges. I set that aside to dry.

Next, I took a piece Whisper White Cardstock and die cut out one large soda bottle and one small soda bottle. I used my Sponge Dauber to add Bermuda Bay Ink to the large bottle and Lemon Lime Twist to the small one. To do this, I inked up my Dauber in my ink and started in the middle of the bottle where I wanted the most intense color and worked my way out so that the color got more faint towards the top and bottom of the bottle. I repeated this with my green bottle.

I die cut a few bottle caps and straws, stamped a few center designs for my bottle caps, and adhered them to my soda bottles. The bottle caps were cut from Silver Foil Cardstock to create a realistic metal look. Before adhering my bottles down, I added some Silver Mini Sequin Trim behind them. Then to finish off my card, I added some stars from the Hearts & Stars Wood Elements and a few droplets from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes, and that finished off my card for today. I hope you enjoyed today’s card. Thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next post!
